New Parking Lot

Parking at the library just got a whole lot easier! Last year, the City of Wayne was awarded a Community Development Block Grant to demolish the old parking structure on Michigan Avenue and build a new surface parking lot close to the library.

Over the last several months we watched as the structure came down and the new lot was built. During this time, our neighbors at Dorsey College and Chase Bank very graciously allowed library patrons to temporarily use their parking lots—thank you! (Now that construction is complete, we ask everyone to please park in the library’s lot instead.)

The new parking lot is open and is accessible from Veterans Plaza, off Second Street. The lot provides safe, convenient parking just steps away from the library’s doors and return bins. The lot also includes two van-accessible handicapped spaces, making the building easier to reach for all visitors. We hope you’ll drop by and enjoy the new quick trip from your car to the library!
