About Friends

The Friends of the Wayne Public Library is a non-profit group involved in activities which directly benefit the library. Among it's goals are:

  • To stimulate public support for the Library.
  • To encourage greater use of the Library.
  • To enjoy the fellowship of other Library Friends.
  • To encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library.
  • To support the Library in developing its services and facilities for the community.

Some members support the Friends simply by paying their annual dues, while others become more involved by donating their time. Every dollar raised by the Friends is funneled directly back to the Wayne Public Library. The Friends personal and financial support is critical to our library's efforts to provide the best possible service and materials to our community. Why not join today?

Fundraising

Among the chief fund raising efforts is a year-round used book sale. Used items for sale can be found in the periodicals area of the library. Proceeds from fundraisers have helped the Wayne Public Library in many ways. Among the materials and supplies purchased by the Friends are DVD and CD security cases as well as a portable public address system. Improvements to our Youth Department have included a world globe, toy train set and Leap Frog interactive learning systems. In addition, the Friends provide funds for the prizes awarded during our annual Summer Reading Program. The Friends also sponsor many programs and guest speakers throughout the year.

The Friends of the Wayne Public Library welcome your gently used donations. However, please note that they do not accept the following items:
    Any damaged items, books included
Books with any trace of mold or water damage, including odor
    Reader's Digest condensed books
